Words Women Use

Found this on another site...thought it was funny!

WORDS WOMEN USE

FINE This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
FIVE MINUTES If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. NOTHING This is the calm before the storm. This means "something," and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "Nothing" usually end in "Fine".
GO AHEAD This is a dare, not permission. Don't do it.
LOUD SIGH This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".
THAT'S OKAY This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
THANKS A woman is thanking you. Do not question it or faint. Just say you are welcome.

Must Love Dogs

Another movie review: Must Love Dogs is an entertaining flick, even if it is not a Sleepless In
Seattle. At times the dialog is fun and quirky with John Cusak at the helm (and he is still cute!)Diane Lane is at her most vulnerable and charming. Occasionally it sinks into the politically correct areas that seem to be unecessary to the plot. But, we enjoyed it and afterwards had some delicious quesidias at Pappacitos. (How do you spell quesidias?) Marlar boys, did you see the movie?

While watching "Return To Me" with a group of sisters, I heard a statement that stuck inside of me. "The incomparable passion of the Lord has put us in this place."( My license with the statement.) It is true, it is true, it is true! It is his passion for his church that keeps us pressing on and desiring to embrace whatever comes along. Praise the Lord!

On the subject of House Cleaning

I am happy to learn that my baby has found some joy in her house keeping duties. Personally, I am not so fond of the cleaning but I dislike the dirty and I do find a sense of accomplishment in the simple tasks of the day at home. I also feel that, probably, it is part of my genetic make up to keep a clean house. I remember the utensils used to do specific chores. Once a neighbor commented that he always knew when it was cleaning day at the Mayo's, because Alison would be shaking the red flag outside. I think it was part of an old flannel night gown someone once wore. After all, dust needs to be shaken outside, as does the lint from sheets that are ready to wash.

Lest we forget....

Hello, dearest ones. Just another picture from the old Destin scrapbook. Remember that trip? Seems like yee-hears ago now. But every now and then, I have a wave of graphic memory, and I find myself on that porch with the sea air, the roar of the cars, the sound of happy screams and laughter, salty skin and hair, and the feel of a good book in my hands. A wave of peace and happiness. A wash of gratefulness for the felicity of a loving family. Miss you all, even those I saw today and yesterday. I hope to never take you for granted. You are a miracle.
